While in Comic-Con International: San Diego, visit lovely downtown WebComiCon!
Posted By Chris Crosby at 6:49 PM
Going to Comic-Con? Witness the Keenspot panel on Saturday at 5:30pm in ROOM 3, and visit the Keenspot booth! Owen and I sadly won't be there again this year, but the booth will have copies of SORE THUMBS VOL. 1, so we'll be there in spirit! Where can you find Keenspot? As is my preference, I'll answer that question with a press release!
Webcomicon 2007
For the first time ever, Webcomics have unified their presence at Comic Con International. "WebComiCon," the heart of the webcomics action in San Diego, will be found in the middle of Aisle 1300, where some of the top names in webcomics -- Abismo/Nerve Bomb, Blank Label Comics, Dayfree Press, Dumbrella, Keenspot, Penny Arcade, PvP, Rooster Teeth and Studio Foglio -- will be assembled. With a combined readership best counted in millions, this will be a gathering to remember.
Located in a prime location in Aisle 1300, WebComiCon is a short walk away from DC and Sideshow Collectibles -- and just around the corner from the Small Press Pavilion. Download our handy map (PDF) and print it out to guide you along your way.
This centralized location is tailor-made for fans of webcomics who want to see many of their favorite creators in one area. Expect to see all your favorite artists joining up for group sketches, sketch mashups, practical jokes, and a sense of excitement that only comes once a year at the biggest webcomics meetup in the world.
Other webcomics creators can be found in Artist Alley and Small Press, making WebComicCon the center of the ultimate webcomics gathering in the world. Watch Fleen.com for an updated map of all of the webcomics creators in attendance.

"Partisan"?
Posted By Chris Crosby at 10:23 PM
Was just reading this VARIETY article on Phil Donahue's Iraq War documentary, and this popped out at me...
The film he's eager to show them -- very eager, said several execs who've made the trip -- is "Body of War," an unashamedly partisan film arguing the folly of the Iraq campaign.
And then...
Movie depicts one wounded soldier's attempt to readjust to life in the U.S. as a handicapped veteran and paints an incriminating portrait of Democratic politicians such as Hillary Clinton, whom it shows not only approving the war but repeating White House talking points.
Uh... what? "Unashamedly partisan"? What party does this anti-war Phil Donahue documentary militantly support, exactly? The Republicans?
Damn liberal media!
(Wow, this is the second non-YouTube video post in a row. Possibly an all-time record!)

I think Indie Rock Pete and Cecania would probably get along just swell.

Good news, everyone! Owen and I lovingly manufactured today's DIESEL SWEETIES comic strip. For those of you not "in with the in-crowd," DIESEL SWEETIES is one of the few brave comic strips on the internet to tackle head-on the sweeping epidemic in this country of witty mechanical men (or "robots," if you will) having sex with sarcastic human females (or "ladies," if you will). It's also the best, by far!So go check it out. And tell your local newspaper editor you want to read it in your local newspaper, too!
